No progress overnight. This a few minutes ago, Dr. Herb Mooney decided to start intravenous feedings in hopes that it will start the bowels. The pain killers cause constipation which are keeping the bowels from working - yet she has a lot of pain - so today they will be trying to balance the medications.
Sunday, June 13, 2010 - Hospital Day 6

Dianne was up and showering when I arrived. We did lap #1 after she finished showering. They removed some of the bandages but left the JP drain. Dr. Mooney does not want it removed until things are functioning. The bowels are still in hibernation.
Dianne seems to be in better spirits but it's because she agreed to more pain killer drugs

There was not much progress today. Dianne usually hides pain and discomfort really well, but this seems to be wearing her down. Only 5 laps today. Let's hope and pray for a better day tomorrow.

Eva (Di's mom) was at the hospital this morning while I was out doing errands. She's not a blogger so there was no morning report.
Today wasn't as good as yesterday. Dianne has much more pain. She only accomplished 5 laps today. We are all hoping that her bowel's start functioning so she can drink & eat food. Then, she'll be able to come home.
